To mark the birth of a child, the Portuguese Monetary Institute has packaged the 2023 coins in a blister pack that can be personalised with the baby's first moments.

Portugal's euro coins all have different designs with a common theme for each of the three types. The 1, 2 and 5 cent coins depict the Royal Seal of 1134, the 10, 20 and 50 cent coins the Royal Seal of 1142 and the 1 and 2 euro coins the Royal Seal of 1144.
