ATTENTION! VERY LIMITED QUANTITIES!

Following on from the Majestic Eagle and Mystic Wolf, here is the Magnificent Argali! The argali (ram in Mongolian) is the largest species of wild sheep that roams the high plateaux of western East Asia, the Himalayas of Tibet and the Altai mountains. They can measure up to 135 cm in height and 200 cm in length. They are adapted to extreme cold, aridity and very high altitudes up to 5,800 m. Adult argali eat around 15 kg of food a day, mainly grass.

The argali's main predators are Himalayan wolves and leopards. They are long-legged runners that escape their predators mainly thanks to their speed. The argali is considered an endangered species due to domestic livestock farming and hunting, as the lure of trophies is strong among hunters. They are hunted both for their meat and for their horns, which are used in traditional Chinese medicine. Males have two large corkscrew-shaped horns, some of which measure 190 cm in length and weigh up to 23 kg. Males use their horns to challenge each other. Females also have horns, but they are much smaller.

The reverse of each of these superb coins features a front and side view of an argali. The profile view is struck in ultra-high relief with an incredible amount of detail on the fur and horn. The smartminting® relief extends right to the edge of the coin! A sublime image of this graceful animal. Fine detail and relief combine. The obverse shows the corkscrew horns of an argali in ultra-high relief. The back features a unique geometric pattern with the date "2022" stamped into the design.
