Description

Shotoku-taishi was a Japanese statesman in the early 7th century. He played a major role in modernizing Japan, promoting Buddhism, and implementing Confucian-based reforms. Shotoku-taishi created the Seventeen-Article Constitution and fostered diplomatic relations with other countries. He was also a strong advocate for education. Despite his life being tragically cut short by assassination, he is considered a visionary and a key figure in Japanese history.
