To mark the 100th anniversary of the Italian Air Force, IPZS is issuing its first commemorative €2 in 2022.

The coin features the Aeronautica Militare centenary logo. In the left-hand field "R", the identification mark of the Mint of Rome; above it "RI", the acronym of the Italian Republic; in the exergue in an arc of a circle the inscription "AERONAUTICA MILITARE"; on the right "VdS", the initials of the author Valerio De Seta; in the background the twelve stars of the European Union.

Edge: striated and inscribed with a 2 followed by a star, all repeated six times, alternating right and wrong sides.
