This coin commemorates the beginning of the Greek Revolution towards independence. On 25 March 1821 the Greek independence fighters met in a national assembly in Epidaurus. The central field of the coin shows the Greek flag in the centre surrounded by laurel branches. On the inner edge are inscribed in Greek the words '1821-2021 200 YEARS SINCE THE GREEK REVOLUTION' and 'HELLENIC REPUBLIC'. At the bottom, between two laurel branches, a palmette (the mint mark of the Greek Mint) and the artist's signature (George Stamatopoulos) are visible.

Edge: striated and inscribed one finds the mention "ΕΛΛΗΝΙΚΗ ΔΗΜΟΚΡΑΤΙΑ*" in Greek alphabet which means Hellenic Republic for Republic of Greece.
