  The design side of this coin features the cathedral of Notre-Dame de Paris in its purest form. Rather than settling for a rectangular format that is nevertheless faithful to the building, the Monnaie de Paris wanted to pay homage to the cathedral's Gothic style by using the contours of an ogee bay decorated with quatrefoils. Eugène Viollet le-Duc's rebuilt spire forms the mullion of the bay and fits in perfectly with the dynamic of the design, revealing the new statue of the cockerel created during the reconstruction work at the top.
 The ogee-shaped bay also evokes the cathedral's stained glass windows, another distinctive feature of the Gothic architectural style. The face value of this coin is set against the façade of the cathedral, as is the date, commemorating the reopening of Notre-Dame de Paris to the public.
 The reverse side takes us inside the cathedral. Here we see the completely renovated choir, revealing the new liturgical furnishings in the nave. Overhanging the vaults, Notre-Dame's roof frame is inserted into the top of the mullion, revealing a complex interlocking of trusses, triangular wooden structures supporting the cathedral's roof. The framework here is a faithful representation of the new framework, itself rebuilt identically and with the same craftsmanship as the building's original framework. 

 Like the craftsmen working on the Notre-Dame site, Monnaie de Paris also wanted to take on a technical challenge by bringing an additional innovation to this product in the collection. The ?25 Silver 2oz coin features a chip that, when scanned from a mobile phone, enables the owner to register for a digital certificate of ownership. Unforgeable and nominative, this certificate stored on the blockchain can also be transferred to another account if the product is resold. What's more, the real attraction of this innovation lies in the exclusive additional content dedicated to the Notre-Dame de Paris collection that can be accessed via the Monnaie de Paris application. The owner of the product will be able to consult models and drawings produced by the general engraver of Monnaie de Paris, as well as exclusive photographs and videos of the development of the coins in the Notre-Dame collection.
