The character of Donald Duck made his first appearance in the Disney universe in 1934 in the short film entitled "A Wise Little Hen". Since his first appearance, he has become an iconic character and an indispensable member of the Disney family, appearing in numerous films, TV series and, of course, comic strips by illustrator Carl Barks.
The reverse of the coins in this collection features the Mickey Mouse character, flanked by a frieze of engraved characters from the world of Walt Disney's animation studios. The reverse also features the face value of the coin and the initials "RF" (République Française).
