In recognition of the exceptional efforts made during the covid pandemic, the Royal Belgian Mint issues a single 2 euro coin. In Belgium, figures from the beginning of April 2022 indicate that since March 2020 there have been approximately 3 9 million coronary infections, with approximately 116 700 hospitalizations and +/- 30 800 deaths. Employees in the health care sector are of considerable importance in these complicated times. They work hard every day to provide good care even during peak periods and are therefore an incredible support to all. The BU coincard version is a real favourite with all carers. The packaging reflects this with a graphic representation of caring hands and hearts.
 
On the coin itself the text "DANKE - THANK YOU - DANK U" appears on the left. Next to the care elements such as a stethoscope, heart monitor, syringe, wheelchair symbol and mortar are shown.
On the right is a member of staff wearing a mouth mask with the initials "LL" (the initials of designer Luc Luycx) next to it. At the bottom the year 2022, the country code BE, the difference of the Mint Commissioner (the coat of arms of the municipality of Herzele) and the difference of the Royal Netherlands Mint (the stick of Mercury).

 Edge: striated and inscribed with a 2 followed by two stars, all repeated six times, alternating right side up and down.
